Reproduction and Growth Performance of Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) Chicken Cross

In Indonesia, one of the sources regional livestock genetic diversity is kampung chicken. This study aimed to assess development and reproductive potential F1 Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) crosses (KUB roosters with different types combs crossed layer chickens). research was conducted at a private chicken company in Gunungkidul regency using 40 KUB 320 chicks. The were separated into four groups based on their comb types: single, walnut, double. Each set ten males housed single cage, male-to-female ratio eight (male female). Observed variables included egg weight (EW), hatch (HW), fertility, hatchability, number eggs, day-old chicks (DOCs), saleable body (BW) offspring ages ranging from DOC, 4, 8, 12 weeks age measure growth characteristics. analysis variance one-way design DMRT test performed describe difference performance across groups. As result, each type revealed significant EW, HW, chick production, production (P<0.05). Compared other combs, best terms DOC. most hatchable sellable walnut comb. Therefore, size has positive correlation reproduction productivity.
